X10D® is not a health shoe

Blog #04  X10D® is not a health shoe

What is a health shoe and is a health shoe healthy?I google "health shoe" and the results are: Birkenstock, YDA, Anova, Kybun, Xelero, Joya and a few more.
They are all shoes that help us. These shoes cushion, support, guide, have space for insoles and can help with rolling. There is no question that these shoes are useful and meet a need. They all help to make walking possible for a wide variety of physical ailments.
But are they "health shoes" because of this, are they healthy?
They help to compensate for what has been lost, like glasses or a hearing aid, which compensate for poor eyesight and hearing loss.
But these shoes and aids do not make us healthier; on the contrary, because the loss of function is not remedied. It is rather reinforced, as there is no incentive for improvement.

Something similar happens with our modern running shoes.  The average runner relies on modern running shoes, and here too the rule applies:  cushioning, support and guidance. All this because our feet can no longer do these processes alone.
A healthy foot doesn't need any of that: every world record is run in a minimalist shoe without cushioning, support and guidance.
As an example, consider shoe cushioning: the industry started doing this in the 1970s. (Blog #2)
Walking and running means anticipating. The landing must be prepared, corrections after landing are impossible.
Therefore, it is extremely important that this landing is predictable for the body. This is not guaranteed with cushioning. We don't know what's coming and have to compensate with increased muscle tension. Overload is the result, which the industry tries to compensate for with more stability. The normal and natural functioning of our feet is thus increasingly impaired.

It's time to rethink.

X10D® is not a health shoe.
X10D® makes your feet healthier.

X10D is a unique shoe technology, basically very simple and direct: it aims to train, correct or optimize our natural gait.
We respect nature and evolution.
